New COVID Variant “Pirola”: Raising Alarm and Sparking Speculation

Dr. Rajendram Rajnarayanan, an expert from the New York Institute of Technology, pointed out the variant’s distinctive profile, featuring approximately 57 spike protein mutations that could enhance its infectiousness.

The ongoing surge in COVID cases worldwide, including the U.S., where daily infections have surpassed 610,000, underscores the critical importance of responsible behavior. While Pirola is not yet the primary cause of this increase, experts are vigilantly monitoring its potential impact.
