In Aurora, Colorado, a father tragically lost his life in an early morning altercation with scooter thieves in his backyard, as reported by local authorities. The distressing incident occurred at around 4:39 a.m. when the father and his son were awakened by the sounds of two individuals stealing scooters from their backyard. Upon discovering the theft, the father and son confronted the thieves outside. However, the culprits managed to escape with the stolen scooters, prompting the father and son to chase them in their pickup truck. During the chase, gunshots were fired at the pickup, causing the father and son to return home.
Tragically, as the father and son arrived home, a passing vehicle fired several rounds into their residence. One of the bullets struck the father, resulting in a fatal injury. Despite the efforts of law enforcement officers and emergency medical responders from Aurora Fire Rescue, the 49-year-old man could not be saved, and he passed away at the scene on Paris Street.
The investigation is currently underway, with authorities identifying multiple scenes connected to the incident, including nearby yards where the stolen scooters were later recovered.
